Krysta Jones aka. @mthrfuckerjones a Creative Marketing and Social Media Consultant, is the founder of The High Country Girls and The Highly Connected mobile app. Specializing in the cannabis field she has connected some of the most popular brands in the industry.

C: So, was the cannabis industry something you were always interested in?
K: I mean honestly no, haha. You know I was getting into trouble and stuff in High School. I never even thought it would be a realistic job until things became legal in Denver. So I was trying to get around where I could work different jobs. Then my friends from high school opened a dispensary and I started working for them as a budtender while in college. Basically started the product I learned to love right then and there.
C: From at that point, being around the dispensary environment, how did marketing and consulting start to come into play?
K: I pretty much just put my foot in the door and started introducing myself to all sorts of businesess. I would pay attention when some would blow up spontaneously and then others suddenly would go out of business, so I was always taking notice. I started realizing the value of my observations and began giving my advice to other brands. I would tell them what they would need to help there business essentially grow here and there. I was teaching them how to network and pivot to their ideal customers. Its what led me to how I am today, you have to pivot yourself to be in the right place.
C: Ok so “pivoting” lets touch more on that subject.
K: Haha, yeah so ok pivoting. You want to understand who your clients are, from Wall Street to the underground parts of the industry. There’s so many key factors involved that you really want to get to know them as best you can. Especially in cannabis, its a broad industry.
C: Finally, why come to Miami?
K: Well, you know already its medically legal and its just about to turn recreational. So you can imagine the amount of incredible business opportunites that are coming to this city. Its been honestly treating me great too since moving from Denver.
